Kitchen Installation Glasgow

You’ve started looking at kitchen installation in Glasgow, and before booking a full refit, it’s worth thinking about what you want to achieve.
Wrap Wizard specialises in wrapping existing fitted kitchens rather than fitting new ones.
We apply a high-performance architectural film over the existing cabinets, kitchen doors, drawer fronts, worktops and splashbacks. The carcasses, plumbing, electrics and layout stay where they are.
What changes is the colour and finish you look at every time you walk into the room.
For a completely refreshed kitchen that saves you up to 70% off the cost of fitting a new one, reach out to our friendly team today!

When the kitchen works but the finish has dated
A lot of the Glasgow homes we work in have kitchens that were fitted somewhere between the late 1990s and the mid-2010s.
The MFC carcasses and hinges from that period have generally held up well. But what ages quickly is the colour and finish on the doors.
Vinyl wrapping addresses this directly.
We apply a high-performance architectural film over every visible surface in the kitchen and the film bonds to the existing finish underneath.
Colours, textures, woodgrains, stone effects, matt or gloss finishes are all available from the same range, and the kitchen functions exactly as it did before the wrap went on. The finished room reads as a recently installed kitchen because every visible surface has changed.
For most Glasgow homes, that’s the job done.
The existing units, worktop, and appliances all stay in place.
We work on the doors and surfaces during the day, you keep using the kitchen in the evenings, and the whole project typically takes one to three days, depending on the size of the room.

Kitchen installation services vs kitchen wrapping
The comparison between full kitchen installation services and wrapping the existing kitchen comes down to four things.
The differences in each are worth seeing side by side before you commit either way.
Timeframe
A fully fitted kitchen installation in Glasgow usually runs to two or three weeks once work starts on site, longer if you’re combining the install with new flooring, lighting, or replastering.
That’s not counting the design lead time, which can add another four to eight weeks before any work begins.
Wrapping a kitchen takes one to three days from arrival on day one to handover, and there’s no factory lead time on the units because we’re working with what’s already in your home.
Disruption
During a full install, the existing kitchen comes out before the new one goes in, which means days or weeks of cooking on a microwave in another room and washing up wherever there’s a tap.
Wrapping keeps the kitchen in place.
We remove the doors and drawer fronts to work on them, but the worktop, hob, sink and appliances stay put throughout. Your kitchen remains usable when we’re not on site, allowing you to eat and function as normal.
Scope of work
A new kitchen installation pulls in several trades.
A kitchen fitter does the carpentry and joinery, a plumber reconnects the sink and dishwasher, an electrician handles the hob and any rewiring, a tiler fits the splashback or floor tile, and a kitchen designer pulls the plan together at the start.
Wrapping with Wrap Wizard is a single trade with one trusted team in your home. We cover everything from the kitchen doors through the laminate worktops to the splashback in one visit.
With us, you only ever need to deal with the one team!
Waste
A full kitchen installation generates a skip’s worth of waste from the old cabinets, worktops and panels. Not to mention resources being used to manufacture your new replacements.
Wrapping removes nothing because nothing is taken out, and the only off-cuts are small strips of film.
What kitchen wrapping covers across your kitchen
If your surface is smooth and undamaged, we can likely wrap it!
A Wrap Wizard project covers visible surfaces in the kitchen, not just the cabinet doors. This means splash backs, plinths, worktops, kickplates, shelving, and more can all be wrapped!
Doors-only is a great option if your worktops are recent or you want a phased approach.
But most clients choose to wrap everything in one visit, so the finish reads as one consistent new kitchen rather than a refreshed door front against dated worktops.
The film is applied with heat and pressure so it conforms cleanly to bevelled door edges, shaker frames, tongue-and-groove panels, and the contoured profiles you see on more traditional kitchens.
If a door is too damaged to wrap, or you’d rather have a physically new door on a particular run, we can fit new units to those positions and wrap the rest of the kitchen to match.
That combined approach works fantastically well for kitchens where most of the doors are sound but a few have taken a knock.

The process from first call to finished kitchen
- First contact. Call us on 0141 777 5027 or send photos of your kitchen through the estimate form. We can usually give you a ballpark estimate from photos alone, then book a home visit to firm up the quote.
- Home survey. We measure the kitchen, bring physical samples of the films we carry so you can see them against your walls and flooring, and talk through which surfaces you want included. The survey is free and there’s no obligation to book afterwards.
- Written quote and date. Once you’ve chosen the finish, we send a written quote and book a date that works around you.
- Preparation and application. Preparation determines how long the finished wrap lasts. We clean and prep every surface before any film goes on, and don’t begin application until the surfaces are properly ready. Doors and drawer fronts are removed, wrapped, and set aside to cure before refitting.
- Refit and walk-through. Doors go back on, hinges are adjusted, edges checked under good light, and we walk through the finished kitchen together. We don’t leave until you’ve checked every surface and you’re happy with the workmanship.
When a full kitchen installation in Glasgow is the right call
Wrapping is a great solution for a kitchen space that wants to brand-new. But unfortunately, it isn’t the right call for all kitchens.
If your cabinets are warped from a long-running leak, the carcasses have swollen at the bottom, or the doors are dropping off because the screws have nothing left to grip, no film can fix that. This needs replacement from a kitchen fitter who can rebuild the carcasses properly and reset the worktops on top.
A kitchen that doesn’t work for how you cook is the other clear case for a fitter. Replacing the kitchen entirely with a different design is something wrapping can’t do.
Maybe the fridge sits in the wrong corner, there’s no usable run of worktop next to the hob, or the island is the wrong size for the room.
Changing any of that means new cabinet positions, new worktops cut to fit, a plumber to move services, and an electrician for the hob and sockets. None of that work is wrappable.
We can’t manufacture new units or change the look of a door that hasn’t been built yet, so this kind of project always belongs with a fitter.
Areas we cover across Glasgow and Central Scotland

We cover Glasgow city, East Dunbartonshire, North and South Lanarkshire, and most of West Central Scotland. Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch itself, Cumbernauld, the East End, the Southside, Newton Mearns, Clarkston, Paisley, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, Stirling, and Falkirk are all comfortably within our reach.

Wrap Wizard is also proud to be trusted with commercial work across Scotland, including offices, hospitality venues, and rental properties.
If you’re managing several kitchens across rental units or holiday lets, wrapping is a faster route to a consistent finish than ordering replacement kitchen doors for each one individually.
Kitchen installation FAQ
What’s the difference between a kitchen fitter and a kitchen wrapper?
A kitchen fitter installs new kitchen units from scratch, including carcasses, doors, worktops, and the trades that go with them. A kitchen wrapper applies an architectural film over the existing units to change the finish without removing them. The two trades cover different jobs, so the right one for your kitchen depends on whether the units themselves need replacing or whether the finish is the only issue.
How much does kitchen installation cost in Glasgow?
Full kitchen installation costs vary widely depending on the size of the kitchen, the units chosen, the worktop material, and which trades are involved. Rather than quoting a figure that won’t apply to your kitchen, we’d suggest getting two or three quotes from local kitchen fitters if you’re committed to a full install. If you’re open to wrapping, we can quote your kitchen at the survey stage and you can compare the two approaches with real numbers for your specific home.
Will a kitchen wrapper remove my old kitchen?
We don’t remove kitchens because we don’t need to. Wrapping works with the units you already have. If your kitchen is being removed and replaced, that’s a fitter’s job, and the new kitchen they install can be wrapped later if you want a different finish than what their supplier carries.
Do you offer a free design service like kitchen showrooms do?
Not in the traditional sense. We’re not a kitchen showroom and we don’t redesign the layout of your kitchen. What we do offer free is a home survey with physical samples, so you can hold the films up against your actual walls, lighting, and flooring before choosing a colour.
